Msd cap has some better terminals on it but you won't see any performance gains.

Drive it untill you get bored with it or want more out of it, then start deciding what you want to do with it

When you do change the cap and rotor, only use real ford parts, nothing from a chain store.

As for modding it, there are a couple free mods that do add a little power, removing the silencer and a timing bump are always good. Maybe throw a K&N filter in the box too.

Then when you are ready to up the fun factor, add 3.73 gears.

The fact that you even found this forum, suggests you like the rest of us, will only be happy with a stock car for a short period of time.

I recommend Dart block, boost, 6 speed swap, 5 lug Brembos, and the entire MM suspension catalog. Get after it.

Mod it and save all stock parts.

these cars blow stock, lets be honest. they're ungodly slow. if you bought it just for the looks and to putt around town in, then by all means leave it stock. If you have plans further than that, get started.

Its not that bad stock, but what do you expect.

But seriously, save up some cash. A Coyote swap would be the best... if not into spending a bunch of cash just yet... Gears is pretty cheap and provides good bang for the buck... small bolt-ons like pullies, 3G alternator is a good starting point. But I'd also do all the maintenance stuff out of the way (struts, bushings, etc...)

its a car designed and built in the 80's (and earlier), with a truck motor and a paper transmissions so i dont expect much. I love the cars obviously, but there's a lot left to be desired. Which is part of why they're so appealing to fox enthusiasts...plenty of room to grow
