So im new to the site..

i roll a 02 stang with a 100 zex wet shot!

But my main reason for posting was my freind has a new gt 5 speed and last week at the track he was getting beat all day only running mid to high 13s!

I found this video of a GOD dang scion tc beating him!
This same car was takin home the gold all day! beating s/c stangs with radials like mine.. Is this really what this world is coming to

Any ideas on getting his car faster!

There's always going to be something faster, no matter what you do. At the end of the day, you just have to be happy with the performance you have, and know that yours sounds so much better.

Mid to high 13's is normal for a stock S197. It's the fastest production GT that Ford has made yet.

i seen the gt500 run that day as well! WOW!

but any ideas of simple cheap >2k mods that will improve his time!

Superchargers/Turbochargers are the S197's best friend. Expensive (as hell), but the performance increase is unbelievable!

He can hit high 12s with full bolt ons. But IMHO bolt ons aren't worth it.

Should be in the 12's, Depending on the driver, the track, the tune, and weather.
I have only known (1) guy who never got beat on the street. When I was growing up me and him took his car to the strip. I climbed out he pulled to the starting line. He ran a 8.50 at 160+. This was in 1973.
It really don't matter what you got, there is always someone faster, It's just a matter of how much money you got and how bad you want to win.
Last year I seen a guy race a Suzuki Hayabusa and the guy with the car won by 20 car lengths. He was driving one of Nitro Fish last year Pro stock cars.
The Suzuki ran a 10 sec run, The Car ran in the 7s

I like how the Mustang is labeled as "slow."

9 lbs of hellion on the Mustang and it suddenly doesn't become so slow. Who cares? If your buddy had equal the amount of boost that the TC had, and if the block could hold it, it would be a low 11 high ten second car LOL. I still give the TC props for throwing down a respectable 1/4 mile.

Spec V's are swapping in 3.5 altima engines and running low 13's to high 12 naturally aspirated.
