My fuel pressure gauge on my a pillar

I have a boost guage and a fuel pressure gauge on my a pillar. For some reason ever since I got my guages installed. The fuel pressure one fogs up a bit when its foggy out only. How can I fix this or whats the problem? It must be some moisture or something from weather outside. Where could be the leak?

It would have to be in the lense or the rear of the housing. Try taking it out, gently cleaning it, and then sealing it up with a light silicone sealant. It may have a seal on it that went bad and needs some attention.

electrical, its inside the car.

How do i take it out? See I dont know alot and know what im doing. I see the a pillar has like 2 push in little plastic screws that connect to the a pillar. Do I just pull the gauge out of the pillar?

Mine fogs up too. Just the fuel gauge, not the other gauge.

I dont have that kind of a pod. The gauge pod attaches onto the original OEM one with 2 plastic push in screws. I dont understand how I would fix the gauge to not fog up.

my a-pillar gauges always fog up. my cluster bezel gauges do pretty often as well... the only one that doesnt is the steering-column one.

ive wrapped them in bags and sealed them off from moisture, but they always fog up when its really humid. guess its just something you gota deal with.

the only way to stop it is to completely seal the entire pod up with some kind of air-tight coating or backing. then pray you never have a wiring problem.

If it just has push in screws, then you should be able to just give it a firm and even pull to get it out. Once it's out, you'll be better equipped to diagnose where/how to fix it.

If I take the screws out, will they be able to go back in? I dont know whats on the end of it.

Well, technically, they aren't screws--you said they were the "push-in" rivet type of fastener.

Depending on the size, you can find most of them at auto parts stores if you find they get damage in the process of removing the gauge. Once the gauge is removed, you can probably apply a fix yourself with light grade silicone--don't go crazy, in case you have to replace a light bulb in it in the future and need to be able to get back in to the housing.

This is all at your own risk, of course, as you are the one trying to solve the fogging problem--if you fear tackling it and breaking something, you have two options.
1. Live with the fog.
2. Take it in to a mechanic and pay money for the repair.

Just my 2 cents.

It is not a problem specific to any one certain gauge (fuel pressure in this instance). There is a cure, you may send the gauge to us and we will disassemble it and apply an anti-fog solution to the inside of the lens. It is an occasional issue in certain parts of the country.

^ AKA we will spray WD-40 on it lol.

If you pull the lense and give it a spray of WD-40 and then take a dry rag and wipe it all off.....it wont fog anymore. Cheap and easy fix.

I wasn't suggesting anybody actually send the gauge back to them.. doubt it would make the trip, especially the way we tend to package things.

You can also use that anti-fog crap you buy from a eye-glasses selling type place. But WD-40 would work (if it doesn't eat through the undoubtedly crappy lenses they use.)

How am I taking the lense out? I want to cure this simple problem. I should take it to someone shouldnt I?

If you pull out those push in plastic screws it will totally mess them up. They are meant to be one time use, trust me. I tried taking mine off that way once, big mistake, now the screws dont push in right. Take off the whole pillar, its just like 3 friction clips I think...was in my vert at least. If you take the whole pillar off it will be better than removing those plastic push in screws

If you really don't feel comfortable, then don't tackle it yourself. Yes, you'll have to pay for someone to do it for you, unless you have mechanically inclined friends.
