The fuse for my dashlights keeps burning itself out, but instead of just snapping like any normal fuse would, the fuse melts in the fuse block and makes a big mess. I've tried a 20A, 25A and even a 30A fuse in there and the same thing happens every time. Any ideas?

How about fixing the wiring problem that's causing the failures...

the higher amps you go the more chance that its going to melt and not blow. Fuses have specific amp settings for a reason. They are set to blow but when you go and put a higher amp fuse in it may not blow and will just melt which eliminates the whole purpose of the fuse in the first place. If you keep running it that way a melted fuse is not the only thing your going to have to worry about. Find the short and fix the problem. Figure out what the fuse is for first and go from there.

also....

the two fuses that have to do with the Instument Cluster Illumination are supposed to be 5 Amps and 15 Amps. So there should be no reason what so ever to put anything higher than that in there.

the 15Amp fuse is for the tail lamps, parking lamps, side marker lights, Inst Cluster, Liscense lamps. So if that is the problem fuse check all that wiring.

the 5Amp fuse is for the Inst Cluster lamps, radio, climate control, ash receptacle lamps, floor "PRNDL" Lamp. So if this one is the problem fuse check all this wiring. If you have done any changes to your radio recently such as a new install, this could be your problem
