I'm not going to discourage you in any way. I think its a great build but keep in mind of the cost.

First off - I would of kept it a 2.3 but added a turbo. There are plenty of places to get aftermarket turbo parts that would of made that car SCREAM!!! Seeing that you are on a budget - it would only make sence to keep it a 2.3. Don't think that just because its a 4 banger that its slow. there are plenty out there that would smoke a GT. Forced induction is the way to go today.

Next - Concentrate on the body of the car. You have a rare color and keeping it closer to stock would net you more $$$ if you decide to sell it later. What ever you do - PLEASE don't rice it out. The pic that you have up of the Saleen is a good start. Do you homework with research before you buy anything and always look at craigslist for good deals.

There is a lot that you can do to these cars so spend your money wisely. I've been there / done that / almost had a car fall on me while building it in my driveway. I got in to the Stang bug when I was 17. It was my first car and since then I've owned 6 of all different years. Some I still wish I had (84 GT w/t-tops & 86 LX). This is not counting the 3 Thunderbirds and 1 Taurus SHO. If I had all the money that I wasted on stupid ***** in the past - I'd be a very rich man.

I wish you luck on the build and keep the pictures coming so we can all see the progress.

shop around and keep your eyes open. Various deals do pop up not just here but at other mustang sites. Its not cheap building a car. Develop some long term goals and plans for your car and go from there.
