Old exhaust combo
-FMS shorty headers
-MAC off-road H pipe
-Flowmaster American Thunder catback

then I went to
-BBK full length ceramic coated long tubes
-Pypes X-pipe (garbage piece)
-Magnaflow catback

I can't believe how quiet my car is! Out of all the mods I've done to my car, this was the most surprising. My wife didn't even hear me drive away, usually pictures on the house start shaking. Now I hear more rattles and rocker arm noise. At cruise its hard to tell if the car is running.

I seriously think I like my old exhaust setup better. The quiet rumble is nice, but it doesn't sound nearly as mean as it use to.

The Magnaflow catback fit is horrible. It took me 2 weekends to try and get this thing to fit right. The two large 3.5" tips are no were near equally centered in the rear and the pipe to the muffler is awfully close to the fuel lines. I twised each piece every way I could think of. Anyone else experience this?

I have video of before and after, its from my digital camera so the quality isn't great. Anyone know how I can post this?

IDK man, my mag cat back fit just fine. How did you install it. I started with the front, installed each pipes with clamps, but didn't tighten them, and worked myself to the back.

The I made my adjustments a little at a time, then finally tightened all the clamps and it was done.

I started with the front also, left everything loose and twisted everything every wich way I could.

Now that I think about it, its probably that stupid X-pipe. My BBK header also sits right against the cross-member, but that wouldn't cause the problem I'm having.

Well, I always thought LT's would make a car louder .... but I've heard from several that they made their car quieter. I think you're right, though. I think it's the midpipe you're running. I'd get a BBK or Bassani piece for LT's ... that will probably make the difference. I've never heard the Magnaflow stuff .... but the Flowmaster AT sounds great. That may have something to do with it, too. Why did you change the catback?

The difference in sound is most likely the x vs the h pipe. I haven' t heard magna flows but I love the flowmaster sound. The fitment problems are universal to any mass produced system. Follow the other guys leads in reference to installation and it should be fine.

Post up a sound clip man, this is the exact same setup I plan on running (except with a different brand X-pipe) and have been very anxious to hear

Forgot to mention, this was on another thread. I drove around for awhile with the LT's, X-pipe and Flow's. The X and LT's did make the car quieter, and took away the drone. But the Magnaflow made the car really quiet. The non-motorheads at my work can hear a significant difference.

Now I've got another problem. My passenger side collector is hitting the cross-member much worse then it was before. It only hits at idle though when the engine's shaking.

Forgot to mention, I'll have new dyno numbers this weekend.

Can someone host a video for me?

Nice. Can't wait to see the numbers. I'm betting you'll need to add fuel as the better exhaust will lean the car out a bit.
