Just got it yesterday and it is almost completely in. It is a T-56 from RPMTRANSMISSIONS.COM .

Just have to wait for the cross member from ford racing ($44.00). Then I will need to take measurements for the new driveshaft. The drive shaft will come from DENNYSDRIVESHAFT.COM for about $300.00.

I picked this tranny up for $1749.00 plus $100.00 for the bell housing. And there is NO core charge!!

This model, according to Tremec is rated at 450 Torque. With the upgrades that RPM did, I would say that the rating would probably be around 500. I asked Todd at RPMTRANSMISSION if I could get the .5 sixth gear. He said sure at no extra cost. This will give me a cruising RPM of about 1600 at 75 MPH.

The only drawback is the 2.66 first gear compared to the 2.97 Cobras. I will lose a little performance, but I should be able to compensate for that with a 3.90 or 4.10 in the rear.

It took Stangdude and I about 3 hours on our backs to get it in. We also took our time.

So far this project has cost me about 2300.00 for a built T-56. I also re-used my 8 month old Spec 2 clutch, which saved me some money.

I just wanted to say thanks to Todd and Rodney at RPM Transmission. They were awesome. Quality customer service and there expertise in this transmission really showed.

Shoot them an e-mail or give them a call for your t-56 needs.
