Im bored and i figured i would make a thread about myself and what ive been through and what im doing racing wise. No one has to comment if you dont want to this is just giving me something to do. Informational purposes only!!!

Ill start by telling everyone that ive been racing for 11 years and its been mainly all bracket racing. I did take 4 years off in the middle and i was a tech inspector for a local IHRA track and i was the starter on race day.

I decided i was going back racing the beginning of the 05 season so i built an all motor 306 89 GT. Same one that you see in my sig. Finally was complete in Sept. 05 and i headed to the track. The first 4-5 weeks out i was having alot of carb problems but still managed to run in the 10.85-10.95 range, got everything fixed and ran consistant 10.70's. Finished the year out with a couple runner up finishes but didnt get a win.

Started the 06 season this year with a new all Strange rear. First week out she is running in the 10.60's at 126-127. Well towards the end of March at the first points race i blow a head gasket first round. So i thrash to fix it during the week and im racing the very next weekend. Even after changing both head gaskets and having an aluminum head welded and milled. Well the very next race 3rd pass out the motor breaks number 7 rod.

So the trash list looks kinda like this Broken block, one broken rod, busted Moroso oil pan, Broken oil pump pickup, two broken SRP pistons, two bent valves, two bent pushrods, one broken rocker arm and alot of oil on my car.

So now that brings me to today. Saved everything i could out of that motor and built and new one only this time with Scat forged crank and Scat forged H-beam rods. I did switch to alot better converter (ATI), so im hoping thats gonna pick the car up a little bit. We did take a little bit of compression out but im adding the wingage tray and better converter so im hoping its gonna run a little better.

So im looking to be at FFW in VA this coming up weekend. My car is still in the yard under a car cover and my short block is not together as of now. Im suppose to pick it up tomorrow and have the car running my Thursday. Stay tuned to see if it happens and how the car runs. Thanks for reading!!!!

Well I was at my engine builders at 4:30 today after work to pick up my engine and it was ready and waiting. I hung out for a few hours and put the oil pan and intake on it. Loaded the motor up and made the 45 minute drive home. Didnt do anything but unload it tonight, ill start the install tomorrow as long as the rain hold off. Sure wish i had a big enough garage to put my car in and work on it.

I did alot of thinking today about what my car would run and if id be disappointed. So i thought, my car ran 10.66 in the middle of March. We always have great weather in the spring and fall but everyones cars fall off .25-.30 when the summer comes. So of course next weekend when my car gets back together its gonna be the End of June and about 95 degrees all weekend. So i think if all my passes stay under 10.90 ill be happy that way i know when the weather breaks in Sept. ill be back to 10.50-10.60.

But only time will tell weather isnt looking good for this weekend either. Rain Fri, Sat. and Sun. But maybe ill get lucky.

See ya tomorrow!!!

Thanks!!!

Well i got the motor and trans sitting in the car tonight. Hopefully ill get home tomorrow and get alot of things done so i can start it on Thurs. Everything looks like its falling in place pretty easily so maybe things will stay that way.

Got almost everything hooked up tonight, with the exception of putting the distributor in and the wires on it im done. All the fluids are in it and i primed the motor. It has 75 lbs with a cordless drill so thats on less thing i have to worry about.

Coming home early tomorrow and going back over everything and doing some cleaning. Glad im finally gonna hear some noise from it after 3 months of being under a car cover.

Weather for this weekend still isnt looking good. Friday has cleared up but its a high of 91, so im sure everyone is gonna run like crap. Sat and Sun still calling for scattered storms and highs in the low 80's.

Im getting the racing "itch" again and i cant wait!!!!

Started the new motor tonight about 7 o clock. Plenty of oil pressure and it sounds good. There is nothing like the smell of burning race gas!!!! I drove it around the block and hit it a few times and it seems very responsive but you never know til you get out on the track.

Tomorrow ill be up at 8 am to pack everything and head out to the track. Stay tuned tomorrow night ill have about 3-4 test passes on the new motor hopefully in the 10.80 range or better.

Well today really sucked started off being really hot. My car seems to have a really bad fuel problem. It has a huge stumble leaving them starting line, i checked a plug and its very rich. So i make some changes and it helps a little bit, and then of course the rain starts to fall and never stops. So the race is rained out and we will go back to the track tomorrow.

My 3 runs with the stumble were 12.07 @ 98 mph, lifted just before the 1000 ft clocks. 11.74 @ 121 and 11.47 @ 120.

I think i have a handle on whats wrong but i didnt get a chance to run before the rain came in. We will see tomorrow.
