My passenger side Header cracked again!

I have a small crack on my passenger header and It's getting welded today. Last time my passenger header cracked it was bad and I just replaced my headers. I thought maybe it was caused by bad motor mounts. So I changed them out. Well my headers have been on for a little over a year now and the passenger hearder cracked again! I think it might be from playing around and happend during a downshift. But what would cause this? I am stumped and afraid that it will happen again in the future unless I figure out the cause and fix it! If not then no more hard down shifts for me!!!!!!

where did it crack? on a primary? at the h-pipe flange? at the block?

On a primary both times.

Anyone have any ideas?

anything touching it? spill anything on it while it was hot? if you did, sudden hot to cold will weaken the metal over time

I wonder if your A/C lines came in contact with it... they get really cold and if they touch your headers which can reach 1000 degrees or so; well thats a sudden 1030 degree temperature shock. Grasping at straws but you never know.

Ok guys, I thought it was cracked again but it wasnt thank god! My leak was from a washer that must have fallen in between somehow long ago. So I just pulled of the header some re seated it and now its fine.
