I just put some BFG radials on the back of my 86 stang... and when i hit big bumps, the fender cuts the tire! Has anyone rolled their fenders and made it look good??? I have heard they make somthing i can put in there to stop the cutting but i dont know what it is... help me problem solve!!!

I've seen a few rolled fenders and you can't tell, one guy in particular just used a ballbat and was patient. He said it almost took another person behind him to help him bend the lip up enough. Can't tell from the looking at the fender this was done.

i cant shorten the axel, it rubs the inside of the tire if i do that. I have spacers on there right now and it barley clears on the inside. So i either have to roll the fenders or get stiffer springs so the back end of the car doesnt squat as much.

Geez, how wide are these tires anyway?

Well, one thing you could try is to take the tire off, and get a big ball peen hammer. Use that to beat in the lip inside the fender opening because that's probably what's cutting your tires. I had to do that on the back of my tempo to fit 205/60R15's, and now they have a good bit of room.

They talk about using a baseball bat, but I wanted to know if anyone has pics, or actually tells you how to roll the fenders. Like I said, they just talk about having to roll them.

just take your time. if you go at it slow and dont mash things up, the outside shouldn't change at all. your only changing the lip on the inside. what rims are you running? if the back spacing is right, you shouldn't need any spacers.

i dont have that kinda cash!! but that is a pretty cool lil tool. I am running some weld draglites.. the backspacing is right it just rubs barley on the inside, the BFG's are 10 inches wide i believe wouldnt swear to it though. I went to cut out the inside of the wheel well, the spash gaurd. I didnt know they were metal on the mustangs...needless to say i gave up cutting that out before i even started. I am getting so frusturated with this freakin car!!!

The car is frustrating you? Why the hell do you need tires that are 10" wide? I think that's just a tad excessive.

I think we should all go in and buy one of those lip rollers...ship it to whoever needs it...I've been eyeing it for a couple years but just can't justify spending that much to roll the fenders on two or three cars max...

My brother said there's some place that does loan out one of those lip rollers, but there's something like 100 people on the waiting list to use it.

If I autocrossed my cars, I would buy one of those roller things. Then take it out to the track with me every time I went then charge people to roll their fenders. It would pay itself off pretty quickly I would think
