And this is based on....? I replaced my old RPM with that intake because the Eddy pc was such a poor casting the lower/upper hole helicoils were coming out and and ear broke off at 10 foot pounds or torque. My Typhoon as been on/off several times without issue, and has done nothing but offer me the same performance and several compliments on my bay.

Well it sounds like you already new what you wanted to do. Most of the reply's were in favor of swapping the intakes. Hell even if you dont put the GT-40 on why not take it and sell it.

well...i've always been brought up and taught you get what you pay for...there's nothing wrong with a typhoon intake....i researched and weighed the pros and cons on intakes before i got mine....in the end i got mine because i'm trying mostly to stick to ford products like my cam and valve covers and use a cheaper version of the gt40....if i was you i would keep the typhoon intake on and sell the gt40 on ebay and make a cool $300 to $400 depending on the condition of it....good luck on whatever you decide...

I like my Typhoon, it makes good power and cheap to boot.

But I have to say, if i had the chance to swap it for a GT40 , I would. That intake looks sick.

Old 5.0 magazine article I remember reading from a couple years back. It out performed the cobra and gt40 by a decent margin. upwards of 10-12 horsepower if I recall correctly. This on a naturally aspirated motor. I think it may of even matched the torque output of the ford part. Only intake tested that did better was the trick flow track heat. I have one, couple hours with the die grinder(also has removable cover like the eddy) and it looked awesome. Been working great for a couple years now with upwards of 10 pounds of boost running through it.

people are sad when they say, "who cares that i payed $200 less and had to clean it up and fix it up myself to make it right. besides, isn't that what cheap labor is all about, getting a piece of crap that just doesn't cut it?"

you have no pride and you might as well be a ricer. thanks, but i will stick to american manufactured products.

The GT40 is a better intake for the application on Thumper heads with a mild cam. Dyno it now and after a swap and see what happens.

Stick with the Typhoon. Its a great product for what you pay, I've had mine for a couple years now works great with TFS heads/cam. Although I'll be upgrading to a Victor 5.0 soon for more top end...

thanks for calling me out on that blandnuts, sometimes i get a little caught up in the moment. we are all guilty of buying whatever is most affordable at times or even when the less expensive is all that is needed to do the job. i have to admit though, it is nice to have quality american made products!:SNSign:

The GT40 was never made overseas - the Cobra "reproduction" intake is made in China.

I know that the GT-40's aren't in the last Summit & Jeg's catalogs that I got. I know some one who has a polished GT-40 that wants to get rid of it for like 300. I might buy it and put it on EBAY
