my wipers keeps staying on while they are in the off positon this is the first time this has happen since i owned the car..it is 88 lx 5.0..i can keep turning the switch from on and back off and they will go off but if u hit a bump or something they will come back on all over again..now this is only when the car is running or igniton switch is turned for enough for power..i know i had it running today had the hood up looking just to see if it might be wiper motor wires or something and they was off when i shut the hood they came back on..i would hope there would something i could do without replacing the whole wiper/switch assembly from the steering wheel but i dont know..any ideas..

Sure, I suppose you can start by disconeecting the switch from the wiring harness to see if it continues to do it. If not, that's a pretty good indication that the switch has gone bad. If so, then you know you've got a problem in either the harness or the motor.

I have the exact same problem in my 88 vert. I changed the Govner, motor and switch (twice) and it still is on intermittent low. I ended up just pulling the fuse and inserting it when I need it. I'm parting the car out anyway now so its moot. I couldn't fix mine so I can't tell you what it is, but I spent days on that problem and tons of time at the Junkyard. If you need a switch, govner or motor, let me know. I have a few extras of each.
