I pulled my center console out to repair it and while cleaning the area, I found this plug just shoved under the carpet. I have no idea what it goes to. You can see the mirror adjustment and lighter plugs beneath. I was thinking it might have been the plug that goes to the drivers seatbelt to tell whether its buckled or not, but my car still beeps when Im not buckled in. So, any ideas what this goes to?

Thanks

Could it be a wire that went to the emergency brake?.....Lights up when the brake is on?????" That is my besdt guess. Or on autos it might light the PND12 Light thingy, it might be put in all cars and not used for standards??????

It looks to me like that would power a bulb of some sort....maybe.

thanks for the quick replies.

Its not the power seats. I have power on my drivers seat, with lumbar. Both of those are working.

And its not my emergency brake because that light in the cluster is going on and off when I put it up and down...

I suppose it could be something for the autos. Anyone with an auto have this thing plugged?

The door, light, and seatbelt chime box is under the steering column... Mine went crazy and wouldn't stop beeping ever so I ripped it out. It did the same in my F-150 too... Just saying.. I thought the plug your looking at went to the e-brake too..

Man, now you got me interested. I just helped my friend swap his auto '93 to a 5 speed and I don't recall seeing that hog. You could take a DMM and start continuity testing some wires. Should be able to follow it in the right directions.

Probably because it was plugged into where the e-brake goes.. I didn't take my e-brake off when I did my t-5 swap, that's why I don't remember seeing an extra plug... makoto you should pull the e-brake and see if the light on the dash lights up. If so then the plug isn't to the e-brake..

It wouldn't have anything to do with the cig lighter would it. I can't remember where mine goes but maybe that powers the light in the cig lighter???

The light under the cig lighter is powered through the same plug that goes to the cig lighter. So its definitely not that.

Funny that both Mavrick and I both have this thing unplugged.

Dromeda, do you know what powered the lighted shift display on that auto before you guys pulled it out? That seems like a logical possibility for this plug...

On mine the light and wiring came in from in front of the console I'm sure... If I remember correctly, I can't recall clearly though...
