Its for the seatbelt buckle. It triggers the idiot light on the dash if you drive around without the belt buckled.

Yup, that's my thought too.

Okay, well its not the seatbelt light either. Let me create a list of what works:

-seatbelt light in cluster
-e-brake light in cluster
-seatbelt dinging when not buckled
-power seats and lumbar
-cig lighter and ashtray light (different plug anyhow)
-power mirrors (again, a different plug)

So maybe it is for the auto's after all...

Anyone else?

Yeah, mine used to be an auto... and it's no longer connected... it must have something to do w/ tha auto shifter light, like already stated...

its probably listed in my haynes wiring diagrams somewhere.
and im pretty sure i remember seeing this unplugged also when i was wiring my igniton box under the passenger seat.

but im much too lazy and dont care enough what it is to look through countless pages and tiny words and lines to find it.

My guess:

It could be for the AOD shifter's PRNOD1 light, or maybe for the solenoid that keeps you from shifting the AOD out of park without depressing the brake pedal.

Just a guess.

This is funny, cause I've already drove my self nuts trying to figure this out a month ago,Mine is an automatic and all that stuff is hooked up....can't fathom what it could be plus I tested it mine at all the key positions and it never has juice???? Otherwise I was gonna use it to put a light at the ashtray (they really should have one there anyway)
