Mysterious problem, won't start....

One quick question, would a points distributor, MSD blaster 2, and MSD 5520 work?

Yes. Since the points are only used for signaling the MSD box, a very small amount of current is going through them, so they will last a long time. The wear from the lobes contacting the rubbing block is still an issue though and will require periodic adjustment.

If it is a stock motor, you probably don't need the extra MSD stuff. A lot of guys here use the Pertronix (or other type) points eliminator. You can always add the high dollar ignition stuff later as you add other engine upgrades and you can still use the Pertronix to fire it.

I think thats the same one I have. Looks right. What that will replace is your points. You don't need an MSD box with it but the MSD box will make your car run smoother. If you switch to a duraspark setup you will need some sort of ignition box.
