You can use a dial indicator to determine lift. Tape a washer down on top of the lifter and put the dial indicator on it and rotate the engine and take your readings. Also, if you have access to a cam degree wheel you can determine the timing events which will help determine duration and LSA. As for the chip, most 94-95's tend to have a surge and die syndrome when a cam is added. Most of us cure it by bumping the idle with some sort of tuning devise. You can either get a chip from JMS, or get a tweecer if you have the ability to tune by yourself, or if you are near a reputable shop that can do custom burnt chips on site you could have your car dyno'd and a chip made right there.
