The main caps are numberd. The rods and caps were already stamped 1-8 Makes me think maybe the engine had been freshend up before.

is there really that much difference in the way a 302 vs a 351 sounds? i just keep thinking that if the 351s were good enough to go into a pantera than it's surely good enough to go into my POS

I'm pretty sure the 351s in the Panteras were Cleveland motors, not Windsor. Same displacement, completely different motor.

i guess that would stand to reason. although the panteras were still being built into the mid 80s i believe. were the cleveland blocks still available then?

This 351 stuff has been on my mind lately also.
My buddy has a rebuilt 87 or 89 shortblock he keeps trying to trade me along with a rebuilt 4 sp toploader and a brand new B-G road demon 725!
