Nasty yellow h/l's??

I spent about 15 minutes buffing mine out and they look almost as good as the new ones I put on my daughter's 91!!

I used a polishing attachment on my electric drill and some fine polishing compound followed by a coat of wax. Incredible difference,maybe I can see at night now!

What part of the headlight did you polish? Did you just polish the outside or did you pull it out and polish the inside as well? Also, what type of wax and polishing compound did you use? Any help woud be appreciated. This sounds like something I may be interested in doing before I put some smoke ones in.

Just the outside;didn't even take 'em off the car. I used Turtle Wax polishing compound (red tub) and Armor-All liquid wax. If they're REALLY nasty try the coarse compound (green tub) first. Don't mix compounds on the same buff. Or try wetsanding with 1500 or 2000 grit paper. Good luck!!

Today I sanded, polsihed and waxed them. My electric drill was at work so I did not have access to that. I did it all by hand. They don't look quite as good as new, but they are considerably better. I notice now that I can see inside that I have some water accumulation in my drivers side headlight. Once I get my drill back tomorrow I am going to drill a small hole at the bottom of the headlight to let the water drain out. And the droplets on the inside should evaporate over time. Hopefully that'll make em that much better.

Did mine with 3M Med. Cut Compound then with Fine Cut, using Makita buffer. Spet about 1/2 hr. Did the inside marker lights also. They look tons better and left $150 in my pocket.

I'm gonna have to get off my ass and buff my headlights too. Their lookin pretty gross.

I never buffed mine. I just used blue magic plastic cleaner and that made them look siginificantly better. I also put some ultra white bulbs in and they look great at night. In the day you can see into them but they don't look great. It'll work until I get around to buying some new ones.
