I've got some questions about the Navigator 5.4 DOHC engines. I'm thinking about trying to put one in my '96 Mustang GT automatic.

1. Are the Navigator cranks forged?
2. Can I bolt that block right into my Mustang?
3. What do I do about exhaust on the 5.4 DOHC in my Mustang?
4. What's the deal with the accessories & timing cover?

Thanks

Anwers....
1.) yes
2.) yes
3.) fabricate or modify either the manifolds from a DOHC 4.6 or the surrounding sheet metal...or both.
4.) what do you mean?

Seems that many guys have done this so if you go to soem of the more modular biased web bourds you will find lots of information. Good luck a cool swap indeed.

Doing some research on the '00 Cobra R they mentioned some issues about clearing the shock towers and frame rails with the 5.4 DOHC. The article I read talked about using special motor mounts and shimming the stock engine cross member to lower the engine about 1/2". How could I do this and/or get the parts I need?

I'm wondering if my '96 SOHC coil packs, power steering pump resevoir, power steering pump, lower water outlet/oil filter neck, alternator, A/C stuff would bolt up to the Navigator timing cover..... or do I need a Cobra timing cover?.... or what DO I need?
