WANTING TO SOUPE UP MY 97'3.8-V-6 ITS ALL STOCK NOW BUT IN ABOUT A WEEK IM GETTING SUM MODS JUS BASICS Flowmaster catback exhaust system 2.5 inch outlet, flanged Y pipe 50 Series Delta Flow mufflers, stainless style exhaust tips. New UPR Big Mouth filter (Race & Dyno) Proven System comes complete with air temp sensor fitting & air breather tube This cold air kit is made entirely with 3.5" tube. System comes chrome with all necessary hardware and stainless hose clamps..
N E THING ELSE I CAN DO? N E THING THAT WILL HELP ME OUT I WANT THE TIRES TO SQUEEL OFF THE LINE !!!!! LOL IF I CAN I GOT ABOUT $1500 TO PUT IN IT FOR NOW..

OMG, j00 got teh MAD sp3lling skillz, bOUYYYY!!! RoFL

The intake is a good start, and the mufflers will be good for little more than better sound. Your next mods should be gears and underdrive pulleys. Your total HP gain will only be about 20 HP, but the gears will help you "squeel off the line".

Intake, exhaust (true dual gives more torque), SCT XCal2 ($399) or Livewire ($599) whichever you want, Underdrive Pulleys ($130), if it is an automatic 4.10 gears ($150) plus T-Lok (about $200) then get it installed (price can vary for the shops, don't cut corners on this cost, it's TOO important), if it is a manual get a short shifter and 3.73 gears. The gears will be THE fastest upgrade you could do besides built engine and power-adders.

are y pypes a good choice ? whats the average rate for installation for the gears what kind of perfomance will i get out of my mods so far ? my car has over a 100k+ miles should i add more power? thanx gill....

Instead of using your existing Y-Pipe, convert to a true dual exhaust for a performance boost and if you want more than just improved sound. This can be done by having a muffler shop cut your stock midpipe (Y connection) behind your cats and either welding in a true dual exhaust adapter or having them fabricate a divorced dual exhaust midpipe. This will allow you to use any aftermarket catback made to fit a GT in your year model.

Changing rear gears in a V6 runs about $500 - $550 installed. This includes the gears themselves, a limited-slip differential, and installation.

The Y-pipe exhaust will only improve the sound of the car, nothing else. Why not just go with a GT H-pipe and GT take offs cat back?

A CAI and exhaust wont give you a whole lot, 5-10hp the most. With pullies you wont make more hp either, you just free up what's there to begin with.

cut your y pipe and weld the 5.0 system onto it. Instead of the deltas, get the flowmaster super 40's. From there, get UD pulleys, 4.10 gears, tlok, full bolt on's ( except the TB. its pointless to get a bid throttle body unless you got a ported to match upper intake). If you really want to get into it, go to www.supersixmotorsports.com and get the stage 2+ powerpak and forged internals. From there you want to get a Procharger intercooled blower. If you dont want to do that, go to http://www.precisionengine.com/rebuilt-engines/ford-crate-engines/index.html and get the 4.2 stroker. get the livewire or Xcal 2 and a nice tune. That should do you pretty good for now.
