LOL. Just had time to write a response to you Michael, and read through 89sleeper's excellent answers. I wouldn't be doing anything but echoing what he said, so I'll save the bandwidth.

89sleeper, thanks for stepping in with your answers. You're right on the money. Any idea on when Dwayne's car will get its feature published? It deserves to be seen by a lot of people, the work is at a level I aspire and look up to.

No problem Alan. I'm not sure when his car is supposed to go into 5.0. I have emailed Michael Johnson about it and he has not responded back to me yet. I know he had some photo shoots with it for some car audio magazines but not sure which ones. I recently moved to Texas so I don't get to talk to him as much. He still owes me for the work on the motor but I will catch up with later on it.
I haven't heard from you in a while. Did you ever get your system done? You were gonna send me some photos but I never got them. I would still like to see them if you have some.

I actually ended up getting bitten by the speed bug, so the system was never completed. It made it to about 85%, and then I scrapped it. Never played it. Discovered the 1/4 mile and played with that for a while instead.

Now I'm refreshed and ready to finish it for 2005. I'm keeping the box, as that was something I'm partial to. Everything else hit the dumpster (not equipment). The motorized, spinning amp rack is gone. Way too much weight added.

I'm redoing all the electronics with gear from around the same year as my car (1992). I've found some brand new in box PG MS-275 and MPS-2240s and am using some other old stuff. A mint PPI par-245/frx-322 combo will process the signals. Undecided on the deck, and the tried-and-true jl/quart combo for speakers. It will 92 all over again in the lanes next season!

Anyway, enough rambling. here's a pic just before the box went to paint (it's dark green now) and the trim panel was wrapped. The buildup pics are on a disc at my house. All the little finish work was never even started when I stripped the car:

I'll shoot some pics of the painted box and the new layout ideas tonight.

Looks good. Dwayne was talking about redoing the entire back of his car and updating his equipment as well. But he saw a 39 Ford coupe that he want's to buy and work on so I'm not sure what he will do.
I look forward to seeing the painted pictures and new ideas.

paint came out good on the box and amp rack, which is partially why i decided to keep the box. I have listened to it (testing) and it sounds great.

Less complex, more clean this time around, with a focus on light weight as possible. I'd like to net as few pounds over what the spare/jack/tools accounted for.

And I'll stick to English from here on out..

I will have to send you some shots of my small system to show you how I dealt with the weight.

Yea, do it when you get a chance. I'd be interested to see it.

I'm finally gonna finish the system. Click the link in my sig; that's what I've been up to lately. Starting a business and developing a product from the ground up keeps you up late (especially with a full-time day job!)

Haha. Touche, indeed. But this is 5.0 tech, right? Somewhere in the midst of all my wiring and junk is a 302, so does that count?

I've always noticed you're on the other side of the state from me, did you go to the 40th in Nashville? It was a great event.

Didn't make it although some of my Mustang buds from K'ville did and enjoyed it. That weekend I went to an 'all Ford' show down in north GA - I seem to be a little more welcomed at the all-Ford shows than the Stang-specific events. Maybe our paths will cross out there - did go to Corral day in Bowling Green a while back.
