need a lil' help with mufflers

My flowmasters have developed rust which is were there leaking from now, i have some magnaflows sitting in the garage, are these better than the flows? will they sound ok with a mac o/r x-pipe?

The magnaflows should sound great with an O/R X-pipe. Probably better than the flows since most chambered mufflers (like flows) sound better with H-pipes. Straight-through mufflers (like magnaflows) sound good with X-pipes OR H-pipes. This is all my opinion of course.

yes they are better, they should last a bit longer too due to better material used.

I haven't heard an X pipe combination I liked on a 5.0 yet (not saying they're bad or anything, but the ones I heard didn't sound good). This one '92 in our shop had Long Tubes, X Pipe, and Dynomax superturbos. I know the dynomax mufflers are pretty quiet but I didn't like how it sounded at all. The magnaflows would sound different. You might just stumble onto a really good sounding setup. Try it and tell us how it works out for you. Then again, if the holes aren't too big you can always patch it up with some muffler mender and dust some paint over it.

listen to my combo(link in sig), i have a catted dr gas x with flowmasters. Im gonna swap out the flows for spintech pro streets this weekend though.
