I just bought a nice bassani xpipe (off road) for my 04 5 speed. My question is do I still need to buy mil eliminators if it has bung's for the rear o2 sensors?? Also I know 04 cars have to have o2 extensions. Are they for the front or rear???

I know stupid newbie questions but don't want any suprises when I go to do the install. (I know to get the Ford gasket for the passenger side header to xpipe mount)

Input???

you will need MIL elims.
the rear O2's will be reading too rich and throw a code.
as far as extensions go, you dont need them unless you are running long tubes.

I think on the '04 models you will need the extensions. I would just remove my old midpipe, lay it next to the new one, and then it should be obvious where you need the extensions.

I've been searching back theads like a good little post whore and found the mils u can make ur self. Gonna go to radio shack tomorrow. My only question is for those who have tried it.... Do I have to solder the resistors in or is there a way to just tape it all?? My soldering skills suck not to mention I dont want to buy a soldering gun.

I just put in the Mac O/R h-pipe on an '04, and I most definitely needed the extenders. The back two definitely needed them, and one of the front ones did too, so I used three out of the 4 I bought. If anybody needs just one extender, I have one that I don't know what to do with....

get a sct xcal 2 and that will solve all your problems you can turn off the back 2 02 sensors. MIL elims. suck. sometimes they don't even work. i would spend the money and get a tuner such as the xcal2

I bought the BBK extenders from 50resto, and they came in packs of two, for $30 a pair, I think.

I don't know if the signal would be hurt. If you're good with splicing wires, you may be able to pull it off.

I wouldn't solder unless you know what you're doing. Also, soldering irons and guns are dirt cheap.

Mil eliminators or have the EEC shut off for those sensors (which is what I did).

Have a good friend who is going to solder and extend the wires on the o2's while we make the mil's out of scratch.

Wish us luck!

So I got every thing installed finally. Bassani o/r X, 2 foot extensions on the rear o2's, and we even made our own mil eliminators. So far I have put about 75 miles on the car and no ses light yet. So let keep our fingers crossed that we protected everything enough.

BTW: Pb Blaster is the **** nit!!!
