ok i have just put my car back on the road monday and i need advice. my car is pretty much stock still as far as performance goes but i really hate this automatic transmission. would an transgo shift kit stop my transmission from shuddering? also how much and what type of fluids are suggested when refilling the tranny fluid? after i get this done i plan on some some gears

I have no clue about the trans fluid. Automatic trans fluid, maybe?

When does the trans shudder? My guess is that the torque converter is on it's way out. My T-Bird, with the same trans as your car had a trans shudder from the O/D lockout at about 50-60 MPH. It shook the glovebox open. I picked up an OE one for about 130 bucks, and she's running strong.

the trans shudders sometimes at low rpms around 20-30 mph, ive heard a few others here have this same problem and solved it by just changing fluid and adding some anti shudder fluid

royal purple makes great tranny fluid it is a little pricey. About $80 a case. Also once I installed a hypertech chip my tranny shift got better

Changing the fluid or installing a shift kit doesn't help but from what I've read the anti shudder additive helps. There's a place that actually sells a piece that installs inside the VB and supposedly will stop the shudder. A few mechanics have told me that if you haven't run synthetic you should stick to the regular stuff especially if you've got high mileage on the tranny.

change the fluid to mercon V and add a shift kit and the shudder will be taken care of. The mercon V itself should take care of it but the trans go kit advertises that it helps the shudder too
