Hey guys I have never posted in 5.0 before and I have a friend who just picked up a 92 gt and we were wondering about how to bump the timing(step by step instructions would be great) for a little more power and I didnt know if anyone had any ideas for some cheap horsepower (less than 500) he just bought shorty headers and a matching o/r h pipe. He is getting some gears next. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

well for a cheap horsepower mod, tell him to get a ported lower intake for around 100 bucks from TMoss on here. ill let someone else describe how to adjust the timing as im not very good at explaining stuff. you could also get a nice cam and 1.6 rockers along with the TMoss ported lower intake for under 500 im pretty sure and it would be nice

on a budget, get the 87/88 tbird turbocoupe 8.8 rear end. it's got rear discs, and the autos had stock 3.73 gears, sticks had factory 3.55's, and it'll all bolt straight up. You can usually buy the entire rear from a junkyard for around $150. IMO, I wouldn't waste any cash on exhaust (too late) or the intake, unless you plan on doing heads and cam too. Invest your money on a good set of rear control arms, this will give you the traction and stability to greatly lower your et's and help your cornering. Fix the inherent design weaknesses with the fox body before spending too much money go fast goodies.

Yeah, lower control arms and full length subs. If it still has the air silencer, yank it for some free HP- along with running a short belt to bypass the smog pump. Sticky tires!
