need advice on mustang purchase

I am in the process of looking at a 65 mustang. Can anyone tell me what problem areas to look for? Since rust is a big issue in the NW I would like to get some advice. Thanks.

trunk area around gas tank, trunk drop offs on both sides you may even be able to tell if there has been any repair work on quarter panels by feeling around and looking with a light by the dropp offs. floors are really comon. take a flashlight and look up under the dash where the vents are also a common spot. frame rails front and rear. and in the engine compartment the aprons around the hood hinges and battery tray. sometimes the tops of the aprons will rust also. hope this helps.

search the classics forum for a buying guide. Someone typed it up a few years ago and it might still be floating around.

also problematic areas are the cowl, floor pans, frame rails, check the engine bay aprons for damage. Hell, there is a bunch to look for.
