I am deciding on what do to with my PMS, currently it has been giving me problems, but I dunno if it is w/ the PMS itself or if it is my car? I bought it used and am regretting it cause now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, either take it to a ford dealer and run a diagnostic on it to figure out if something has gone wrong w/ my car or send in the PMS to have them fix it? The car currently runs fine w/o the PMS but when I plug it up, put in the recommended tune, it tends to studder and stammer at around 4500 like it is dropping cylinders. Any advice would be wonderful. Also I tried it w/ stand alone on and off and it does the same thing, also it throws a code for the TPS, which I replaced to no avail.

Thanks

Sean

Thanks for the advice, I will have to try that out, now how do I test it to see if it is between those 2 numbers?

Thanks

The first thing my book says is make sure the TPS is between 90v-98v. It's actually rule number 1. If it's under or over it will run like ****. Now since you got a TPS code then it needs to be addressed first. Just because it's been replaced doesn't mean it's between the recommended volts. Take the TPS sensor off. Hog out the copper inserts with a small drill bit. Reinstall leaving it loose. Find the correct volt and tighten the bolts down. Mine is set a 94v.

Yeah, I called up there to ask what the deal was a while ago, and rick couldnt tell me a whole lot. Not that he doesnt know his stuff, it is just that it is a strange problem and we tried alot of stuff, but didnt try adjusting the TPS . I REALLY hope that it works, I am in the process of trying to get some TFS TW heads and the tunability would be nice!

According to the manual I got with mine, yes. The entire PMS program is based of the TPS. If you need help call www.andersonfordmotorsport.com or visit www.stangtuning.com

Are you running an aftermarket ignition yet?
You should try and go to (0) on all of the tables and then start your own tune, with your own #'s. I've tried other #'s from Stangs that have them already close to my combo but they don't work well. I also have the code for missing TPS and I'm running fine. It takes a lot of test driving to get it correct for your specific car, IMO. I am still tuning mine everyday and my car has never felt stronger. I started at zero and (+/-) timing and fuel as I test drove it in all different cells WOT, P/T , Boost, etc.
