i just got new tires and was wondering what everyones opinion was on the need for an front end alignment. is it necessary? if so, what is the going rate i should expect to pay for this?(i think i paid like 70 about 1.5 years ago, when i got it done after lowering the car). im from the schaumburg/chicago area is anyone knows a cheap place to go

thanks
peace!

i figure its a good time to do it. however, if the old tires did not show any alignment issues, than it probably isnt necessary.

well to tell you the truth, i didnt really have any time to look at the old ones, this was like a suprise xmas gift form my dad. i came home from school and there was 4 new tires mounted on the wheels. as far as i can remember they wore pretty evenly. the outside edges did wear a little fater than the rest of the tire. is this from mis-alignment or just happens from turning?

Edges wear faster from turning. No alignment should be required.

ok i was taught that with alignemts, if one shoulder is worn excessively then there are camber issues. and for toe its "smooth in toe in, smooth out toe out." it could just be from your driving style if it is overly aggressive. if you can find a place that will do it cheap than its worth doing. like for me i just take my car to my school and use the 4 wheel alignment rack there for free.
