Need AOD Help Desperately!

searched the forum, didn't find what my problem is.

The tranny has been working absolutely flawlessly, had been
rebuilt and upgraded some time ago with a 2500 Carr converter.
Recently had new fluid & filter.

Had the car up on stands for 2 weeks swapping in my 351.
Fired up the engine, brought up to operating temp, checked
for leaks, set the idle & tps, all the normal stuff. Engine
runs great.

Went for a test drive, now the D#@#$% tranny won't work!
Hesitates going into gear, slips in 1st and shifts late, slips
in 2nd, won't shift out of second, hardly no reverse at all.

Checked fluid, OK. Checked tv bushing (new, is hooked up)

Would a new throttle body (aftermarket) have the tv cable
hookup positioned differently or something? The throttle
and cruise cable thing didn't need any adjustment - works
fine.

Dark out and raining - I'll have to try adjusting the tv cable
tomorrow after work, and get under the car to see if I did
anything to the linkage or anything while jacking the
front of the trans up and down to mate the engine.

Supposed to leave for an out of state job Wed noon, and
without that car I'm screwed!

Really appreciate any ideas on what to check.
Something must have happened during the engine
swap because before the trans worked perfectly.

Thanks!

I second the TV cable. How did you adjust it? One turn of the adjusting nut will throw things out of wack, not to mention anything really bad will cook your tranny faster than Michael Jackson can say Cash Settlement. I would bite the bullet and take it to a dealer or reputable shop to adjust...IMO.

Yeah I had a bad T-v cable adjustment on my 89 when I changed intakes. I went through 4 transmissions before I figured out the problem.....Then trans would go out within 3-5 miles. Sometimes they would last a day.
