need car stereo install help!

1991 gt- well, we got the aftermarket wiring harnes connected, but no sound comin out of the speakers

there is power coming out of deck harness when it is not plugged into the stock car harness.... but as soon as i connect, the power gets off (testing light)

do i need to disconnect/hardwire the stock amp that is behind he dash???

or where is it? Let me know what i gotta do

The only reason you would leave the stock amp is if your new radio has low power and it probably doesn't. You will ned to remove the amp and get an "amp bypass" wiring harness. Install the bypass harness and your radio will come alive.

Take out the stock amp and that portion of the harness and plug your adapter into the harness that was plugged into the amp. The plugs are the same.
