need help answering this question

i have this nagging person who always tells me that ever since i changed my mid pipe that i will instantly have all my warranties voided even if i just go to ford to have my oil changed...can someone please inform me and tell me that this isnt true and if im not mistaken, isnt there a law for this?

Alot of dealers will void some of your powertrain warranty especially since you installed one without cats.

As with any warranty, they'll try to do anything to NOT pay out. Though by law, they are SUPPOSED to cover it. Of course, if you have to fight them with a lawyer it's kinda pointless.

The law is the Magnuson-Moss warranty act. They have to PROVE that your mod caused the problem that needs warranty work.

Depends on the dealership. There are friendly dealerships out there. Gotta shop around.

well isnt taking off cats technically illegal in any state. i dont know of a state where its legal, they just havent come out and said its illegal. CA on the other hand.....

legally they can't, but it's not big enough of an issue to bother with legal action IMO. Do a little research and see if you can find a good dealer that won't mind minor mods and be sure to take all your business to them.

I myself have three i can go too with no problems.They are out there,just look around.

the car was approved for the road by the DOT any mods techincally void the warantee. it sucks.
