need help engine breaks up at 2000 rpms

need help for some reason engine breaks up at 2000 rpms back fires but it idles fine i dont get it. what im i missing it has new plugs cap and rotor. spark plugs look good. what im i missing i know its something stupid got it be a sensor or something. i even tried to mess with the timing but stills back fires and boogs down at 2000

What is your timing set to? What type of plugs and what gap did you use? Did it do this before the tune-up? What else changed? Codes?

Sounds like a weak coil or weak electrical system. Check voltage going to the coil with motor running. Check it again while having someone rev the motor a bit. If you see a drop then you'll have at least narrowed it down to electrical system. If it's 12+ then swap the coil with a known good one.

Check to make sure you dont have a spark plug wire stuck to the side of one of your headers.

i got the block from someone i know i went for a test drive before he pulled the motor. it was fine he sold me a long block without upper and lower every else was all ready there .even the distribtor i didnt touch that the coil i had not very long i got it from ebay a year ago its a msd. plug wires are good just about brand new

Sounds like a dirty/not working/not connected MAF.... check it out.
