need help finding a vin plate on small block ford

ok i need help finding a vin on the block on a small block ford anyone know where it might be it is either a 289 or 302 it is an older motor but i need to find it so i can learn some more about my motor before i build it but i cant do it if i dont even know the year of the motor so help if you can

You might have better luck posting this in 5.0 Tech. I personally don't know where it is but I bet there are a bunch of people that can help you over in the other forum.
