I am using a 1987 transmission case and need help identifying the reverse light switch and neutral safety.

I’m not sure what trans that is but it’s not a T5 out of a V8 car. The NSS would be on the top of the trans near the front and yours doesn’t have that port. Your blue arrow arrow points to the reverse sensor port.

wonder how much it would cost to ship you a pair

Reverse lights

speed sensor

there is no nuetral safety physically on the T5. It’s only used on the AOD and jumpered out on a manual trans car in the reverse light harness.

The sensor on top of the T5 is the nuetral Gear Switch. It’s job is to tell the ECU when the trans is in neutral (in parallel with the clutch switch) and adjusts idle strategy accordingly. Without it, you sometimes get a hanging idle. It has nothing to do with the starter circuit.

older t5s do not have it. The boss is not drilled. You’d need to find an 85+ top cover to retrofit it. Withiut it, you should jumper the plug on the clutch switch if you get a hanging idle

I have a T5 out of a 92 fox and it has the switch on the top cover. My understanding is the 95 and later T5’s don’t have the switch in the top cover.

Correct, the 94+ V6 t5 has a blank rounded top cover that lacks the NGS.

I believe the 94-95 V8 t5 still has it
