I'm replacing the front suspension on my 66, 289. The shock towers have sagged over the years, (I pulled out about 1/2" of shims from each side. I'm trying to install my monte carlo bar to try to get them back in the right place. My old man thinks that maybe the monte carlo bar is too long, I think the towers need to be moved out about 1/2" each. Can some guys take a measurement of either their monte carlo bar, where the bolt holes are to the inner fenders, or a measurement from the centerline of each front shock left to right, so I can see how far I'm off. Thanks.

Gimmie a few mins and i check the left to right on my 66 coupe , i dont have braces anymore so theres no way i can get you that measurement,

also thinking every car will vary to a degree so you might want to wait till you get a lot of Readings to know for sure if yours is truely off

*edit* measuring from the two closest bolt tabs on the inner shock tower was 31-7/16" from the top layer of the inner shock tower the other layer under it sticks out a little farther as pictured here with black line

Great, Yes I realize they will vary, but I'm looking for a ballpark figure, just to make sure I didn't get a reject monte carlo bar or something. Thanks for the fast replies, I'd like a few more if you guys are out there. Thanks again.
