Need Help On 4.30 Gears In My 05 Gt Automatic

I had a Mustang high performance shop install 4.30 gears in my 05 GT Mustang automatic. They are from Ford Racing and everything was checked out on the install and they even went back in an rechecked the pinion depth and backlash. when we heard the whining coming from the rear end at around 2100 rpms. What I'm asking is has any other members installed 4.10s or 4.30 gears in there 05 GT's with an automatic and had problems an know where to look frist to fix the problem. This shop has installed hundreds of gears, but only about 5 on the new 05 which were all 5 speeds no automatics

I have installed FRPPs 4.10 with an automatic. No noise at all.

Get a new pinion shim kit. it's not shimmed properly.

DarkFIREGT did you have to go back and shim your pinion after having it installed. I'm getting gear whine on both the drive side and coast side of the ring. Do you have an automatic trans. and did you have to install a new pinion shim kit in yours? Need Help !!!

What difference would the trans have to do with it?

No, mine is manual. It took quite a few times to get it shimmed correctly. The guy who did them works on stock cars, and has done over 100 mustang gears, so I didn't figure it'd take him that long, but he said these '05's seem to have to be shimmed just right. If your installer measures and marks the location, once is all it should take. If you're having whine, it is probably due to shimming. Either that, or the crush sleeve was damaged during install.
