Still working on my body. But I am also putting my stock motor back together on the 86 to set in there until I get another motor together. So here's my question. I want to get as much out of the stock motor as possible but have it remain stock looking. I am porting my lower (Tmoss style). I am going to use a newer tb but it off of a stock 87+ stang, so it will be a hair bigger than my original 86 unit. I know I have crappy heads but I have to hang on to the until I get my other motor together. I have eliminated all of the smog stuff. I have removed the heater and all items that go to it. No AC. I need to keep my power steering. I have done alot of weight reduction as well. I plan on getting some shorty headers. I already have a decent exhaust. I will be using an electric fan. I have a MSD 6 AL but wasn't sure if I should even put it on.
What else can I do???? Any idea what kind of power the engine should be making with these mods? I know the stock motor made 200 hp according to ford. Any little tricks I am missing? The motor is out of the car so now is the time to get it done.
