need help please

ok i have tried everything.....i can not get my car to run past 5000 rpm......the car pulls great from idel till then...but once it gets there it just stops pulling...i have no clue what it could be...i upgraded the pump adj. fpr anything else i can do please let me know cause its starting to drive me crazy

Check the timing, if you have a catalytic converter might want to look at that as well.

It's called a stock cam and low power engine. The "fastest" way to drive these cars is to shift at about 4800.

As far as the fasctory tachs can be off I'm suprised its not showing 6k already.
