Need help! please

OK I'm back at it after a long break, and trying to pull the motor. I have everything disconnected exept for the drive shaft. I need to know how to disconnect it, do I just undo the u-joint at the trans or is there another way?
If the u-joint needs to be undone how do I do this . sorry for the silly questions but I'm just not sure. Any other tips would be appreciated as this is my fist motor pull .

You have to undo it at the rear end and pull the entire driveshaft out as a unit.It is helpful to either put an old slip yoke back into the transmission or cover the end with a thick plastic bag as fluid will come out the back of the transmission when you tip it.

It would seem akward to remove the engine/trans and drive shaft has one unit. could I remove the tailshaft housing of the trans?

That is way more work. Drain the transmission and unblolt the driveshaft from the rear differential. The driveshaft easily slips out of the transmission. Cover the tail of the tranny with a plastic bag and seal it with some rubber bands. Be sure to remove the shifter linkage.

If you are pulling the engine and tranny together, use an engine leveler. These have a nut or crank on the end to change the center of balance as you move the assembly up and out of the engine compartment.

Alright, got it out and on a stand . It went off without a hitch, I guess being the first time I was just a little over cautious.

Thanks again for all the help, now for some beer....got to get ready for New Years.

good work. as for being overcautious, that is the way to attack car repair expecially when you have little experience.
