need help, po117

got the code po117 coolant temp low input, this is on a 96 gt with an 04 swap. on the intake crossover, which sensor is which? i cant seem to find any info and which is correct, is it the coolant sensor on the left and the coolant switch on the right or is that backwards. i tried starting my car this morning(alittle frost on the car) and wouldnt start, yesterday was warm and bright(also in my garage) it started first try.

For the 96 model year, the dash temperature sensor uses wire colors R/W and Y/R.

The ECT sensor to the PCM wire colors are LG/R and GY/R.

DA20 DTC P0112 OR P0117: SIMULATE OPPOSITE SIGNAL TO PCM

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0117 (ECT) or DTC P0112 (IAT) indicates the sensor signal is less than Self-Test minimum. The IAT and ECT sensor minimum is 0.2 volt 250°F (121°C).
Possible causes:

- Grounded circuit in harness.
- Damaged sensor.
- Improper harness connection.
- Damaged PCM.
Key off.
Disconnect vehicle harness from suspect sensor. Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.
Scan Tool installed.
Key on.
Access ECT or IAT PID

Thanks, ended up finding that the 2 sensors where swapped. Got those fixed and now no more po117 but now im getting a pending code, p1151, lack of ho2s-21 switch,sensor indicates lean. That only started after i fixed the po117 code. The car drives ok but sitting at a stop just idling, it starts idling alittle rough and you can feel the car shake alittle.

Well that was a pending code, cleared it and havent had it back yet....while driving threw another check engine, pulled my scanner and checked and have 6 codes, 3 pending,3 fault. po136,po141,po155. I do have longtubes and an o/r x-pipe, i do also have mil eliminators but guess those failed? Is it possible that the sensors "broke" from the car sitting 1.5yrs(being started every month)

P0136 - O2 sensor low, B1S2
P0141 - O2 sensor heater cct open, B1S2
P0155 - O2 sensor heater, B2S1

The MIL is a low-pass filter. It still requires a functioning O2 sensor to produce a good output.

B1S2 is showing two faults suggests perhaps the sensor is unplugged...

The P0155 is a bit more concerning since it deals with the front sensor on the other bank. You might check the resistance of the O2 sensor heater (both B2S1 and B1S2) to see if the heaters are open-circuit.

I was also getting an p1151 pending which again is o2 for bank 2, sensor 1. Im assuming that sensor is bad since this is the second code that popped up for the same thing. I just used an extra sensor i had laying around from the new motor i got, motor was sitting outside in the winter for alittle.

I did notice at an idle it would run alittle rough. Anyways i always get them confused, bank 2 is drivers side right? and sensor 1 is front, sensor 2 is back?

I have an old school multimeter and a complete noob to electrical, when measuring ohms what setting does it need to be on, Rx1,Rx10,Rx100 or Rx1000?

If wanting to try "old school" methods, start by checking fuses. Perhaps there is a blown O2 heater fuse.

Replacing a blown fuse beats a day spent "ringing out" a wiring harness every time.
