Ive had this Sony CD player in the car since I bought it (only mod done to the car), and I need to take it up to get to a wire behind it. Apparently I need a special Sony tool to remove it, but its Sunday and all the shops nearby are probably closed. Is thier any other way to get this thing out without damaging it?

That looks like a pretty solid install. Sometimes there is a latch system on each side that you can trigger with micro screwdrivers. I had to do this with a alpine after I could not find the removal tools. But you have to be careful or you can damage it. Places like Wal-Mart and Target have universal removal tools that may help. Otherwise, i'd wait.

It's a real pain, but on either side there should be a pin, you kinda have to raise them upwards...either with a small flathead or a finishing nail or something while pulling the cd player outwards (without breaking everything..). If not, it might be the ones similar to the stock ford ones, stick thin nails in above and below and on both sides of those silver pieces and see if you can feel a click...
Or, wait till tommorow to get the sony tool...whatta pain eh...

the removal tool will liik like a flat piece of metal, about 3/8" wide and 3" deep. It releases some "springs" on the radio chassis that pop out and lock when the radio is slid in.
