Today I went to change the brake pads on my car, and i got everything off that i needed to and all, but after that i put the new pad on and i coudlnt get the unit htat squeezes the pads to fit over the new pads. My neighbor told me that a C-Clamp would work and I would be able to push the little circle thing (i guess it might be the piston) that pushes the pads on to squeeze back in so that i could slip it over. Well that thign wouldnt budge with a clamp so now i cant fit the unit in over the pads. Sorry I'm pry not using the correct terms, i dont know much about brakes, can someone help me that has done this before? Thanks!

Is this in the rear? You need either a needlenose pliers or much better would be the rear brake kit from autozone. You can rent it for 35 bucks and get all your money back when you return it. You can't squeeze the back pistons in, they need to be twisted with the tool. If you look, you can see 2 slots in the piston. Someone told me to adjust the parking brake also but you will need other folks input on that one.

Just make sure you crank the piston in enough so you can slip the caliper over the pads without forcing it. Also check this out.

Good luck!
