so my buddy just bought a 96 GT, nice looking car, its black with a cobra R hood and clear headlights and corners. anyhow, it blows the front pass. side O2 sensor out of the bung, which is stripped out. we fixed that for now, but it threw like 4 codes.
P1506 or P1507 i think, something to do with the idle speed control auxillary imputs. i dont know how to fix that.
lean on both banks, i switched his MAF housing and cleaned the MAF.
and cylinder 7 misfire i went to pull the injector plug off while the car was running to check if that was the problem. and it wasnt connected to begin with. problem solved there.
the re-re at autozone said the lean codes were tripped from the misfire, which messed up the O2 sensors and made the ecu think the car was lean. and i was like "yeah....or the MAF is messed up." he told me the MAF was fine. then told my buddy to "trade it in for a dodge" and i told him we didnt want any more problems. i took the MAF off to find filter oil all over everything, so i used a q-tip and rubbing alcohol to clean it up and put my stock 01' housing in it. then i cleaned the IAC with ALOT of carb cleaner.
now it runs OK, but i dont know what codes its going to throw again, but i know the first one will still be there, my question is how can i fix that? im pretty sure i got all the other stuff out of the way. we'll see i guess. thanks for the help guys.
