Need help with decision!!!

what up everyone, tommy, here, new to the forum, I have quite a decision to make and wanted some advice, I can have a 2005 white mustang premium GT now or I can order a 2006 mustang premium GT that the dealership says will here in 6 months, I am leaning towards the 2006 because I want it in tungston grey and the interior upgraded package, what would you guys do? I have already put in a deposit on the 06, but I can get the white GT right now, as long as the dealership still has it, by the way its Friday now, and I'll be surprised if the white GT isn't sold by this weekend, Tommy

Wait for the tungsten gray 06. That's a great color, and I don't care for the white myself. If you decide to stripe it there is no better looking color w/ stripes.

I'll bet that if you order a 2006 today, you'll get it by October. The dealer is just telling you 6 months to get you to buy the white 05 on his lot now.

i would order it and get what you really want. its a car that will last a really long time, why not make it "your car".

I don't like white either. I also cannot believe it would take that long to get an 06. Ford's stock price has dropped to new lows and the company could be in trouble just like GM if it can't build in a timely fashion cars people WANT to buy.
There has never been a shortage of Mustangs like this. I and my dealer are convinced the shortage is artificial.
I believe you can get the 2006 by fall. I would never settle for white. I just don't care for it.

noxious mustang - If I were you, I would be a little concerned if the dealer is saying you have a priority code of 1. My understanding is that dealers can't give codes below 10.

The shortage of Mustang GTs is for real, although many dealers are making the shortage out to be far worse than it really is.

There is no shortage of V6s

Another contributing factor was that Ford originally only built 40% with the popular IUP option. That has been increased to 75% and is no longer a problem.

Most vehicle shortages quicky turn into oversupply once the initial "first on the block" demand is satisfied. By November most dealers will have far more V6s sitting on them than they will know what to do with (some big dealers already have lots of 05 V5s). By this time next year there will be lots of GTs sitting on dealer lots looking for buyers.

The shortage won't last forever. From USA Today:

Art Spinella, an analyst at CNW Marketing Research, says he expects demand for the Mustang will remain strong for about 18 months. Considering the car went on sale in October, that means supply could stay limited until next April.

"There's an awful lot of breadth to the Mustang but not a lot of depth," Spinella says. "A lot of people would consider driving one, but it isn't a primary vehicle in a household."
