Need help with gauge installation

I almost have my tach installed but I don't know what wire to connect to my tach sensor. It says in the instructions to connect it to the negative wire. There is a red wire and green wire and I can't tell which is positive and which is negative. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thankx

The green is negative

The one with green on it is the neg coil wire IIRC.
I thought the coil's connector was labeled too. If you have the car running and use a test light, one wire will show constant 12 volts, and one will pulse real quick. Use the pulsing wire.

Thanks guys. The whole job took about 3 hours. It is sooooooo great to have a tach again. It's like a luxury now for God's sake!!!!
