Ok I have a 93 Gt and at 65mph I am driving at 2500 rpms, Now I checked the tag on my axle cover and it says I have 3:27. I spun the tire and counted the driveshaft and it also came out to 3:27, but my car was originally an aod and I swapped it into a 5speed. I didnt change the speedo gear but I don't believe my speedo is off. What could be my problem for taching so high on the parkway, is my 5th gear real short? Do I have diff gears and maybe I miscounted the driveshaft? Or could my tps be off?

What transmission did you use in the swap? I wouldn't really worry about it id you sig is still going to happen about getting the 3.55's just change the speedo gear then and everything should be ok

What size tires do you run? ex: 225/60R15 or 275/50R15

I think your speedometer is off. 1993 AOD's had an 8 tooth output gear for the speedometer cable. Depending upon which year tranny you swapped to it could have a 7 tooth output gear. If it is a Z spec T5 it has a 7 tooth output gear.

In about 1989 (I think) the T5 changed to an 8 tooth output gear which would make your speedometer correct as it is right now. I suspect you have an '88 or earlier T5, or a FRPP T5, with a 7 tooth output gear.

I'm running stock sized tires, 225 55's all around. The guy I bought the tranny from claimed it was a 93. I ran the tag and I believe it came out to either a 90,91, or 92, but I wasn't worried because they're all rated for 300ft lb's of tq. (I didn't want an 87-89 bc of the lower tq numbers)
