I can't decide on what gears i should go with in my stang. im considering 3:73's and 4:10s, all i need to know is what the rpm would be through about 55-70 mainly because cops in this town are begging to give me loud exhaust ticket but havent found me at high rpms yet. give me your thoughts on what i should do ive always heard 4:10s are awesome. thankx alot

I would do 4.10s if I can remember right Im at like 3k-3.5k I think. 4.10s are definatley worth it though you can really feel them, 3.73s you can fell just not as much and dont seem like you get as much bang for your buck.

4.10s can actually help you with gas mileage around town. with the stock gears i rarely got out of 3rd gear, but with the 4.10s i can put it into 4th and drive at a lower rpm without bogging down at all.

Use this gear ratio calculator. It will get you close.

Looks like 2554 rpm's for 4.10's at 70mph. I went from 2.73 to 3.73 and it's perfect for me. I have to drive in snow/ice. If you don't have to and you don't do a hella lot of highway miles each day, do yourself a favor. Go with 4.10's and don't look back.

Go 4.10's!! It will make 5th gear usefull. And its only 2500 RPM at 70 MPH. Your city mileage will increase slightly and you only lose 1 MPG on the freeway. Somewhere here on Stangnet is an article on why 4.10's are the right gear.

I've got 4.10's and love em. Was hung up on the choice before there was a thread that someone posted that had some daily driving with 4.10's vids. That sold me. Around town it's not that bad as long as you arent an a$$ about it.

if you dont do alot of highway driving then do 4.10's like everyone else says but it wont keep your exhaust tone low you'll be able to hear it
