Currently rebuilding my 1990 Mustang 302. I just got it back from the machine shop in which I had it cleaned up, and bored 0.30 over. All i'm looking to do is a 306 build but cannot find any rebuild kits online. I HIGHLY prefer an already balanced kit. Also my car was originally an AOD and I converted it to a T5. In the process I had to buy a 28oz flywheel but never touched my harmonic balancer. Im planning on buying a new harmonic balancer, so do I purchase a 28oz or 50oz? Thanks!

Your balancer will match your rotating assembly.

If you purchase a rotating assy balanced for 28 oz then you would buy a 28 oz flywheel etc.

Okay that kit looks pretty good but doesn’t include a flywheel or harmonic balancer, I have the 28oz flywheel so should I order a 28oz or 50oz harmonic balancer separate?

like Noobz said. If the kit stips a 28oz imbalance, everything you use is 28 oz. The only thing that raises a question to me is that you’ve already had them bore the engine w/o a piston to reference off of. Maybe it’s an old wives tale, or an unnecessary step, ….it’s just that every time I’ve had an engine machined…( going on about the 12th time now) A competent machine shop wants a piston from the rebuild kit that you’re going to use before they bore it.
