Mine was a bit of a pain when I did my headswap, but I just kept at it and eventually it came off. Instead of trying one smooth pull with the ratchet, you may want to try jerking the ratchet (I know it sounds bad)...I dont know if thats the best way to do it, but it worked for me. Good luck!
