I need JR again.

So since the car is apart we replaced all the sensors. I took all the old off the car and brought them to my Auto Parts store.

I'm having issues connecting the wire harness to the Temp Sensor. If you look at the picture I'm holding the old one, it's exactly the correct one. We thought the wiring harness was on the wrong side but the temp gauge and sending until wire are on the same side as the temp sensor so it can't be.

We took this car apart on May 28th and only 3 weeks later our memory isn't there.

We have the harness connector just resting on it, the connector won't go any further. It doesn't line up at all.

The gage temp sensor has 1 wire and is located on the driver's side up towards the front of the lower instake manifold.

The ACT sensor is similar to the ECT and fits in the #5 intake runner. The ACT has a metal shield on it with an opening on each side.

The ECT fits in the metal coolant tubes on the passenger side of the engine that feed the EGR spacer and the heater. It has a tapered brass plug on the end.

JR its the 4th picture. The wiring harness connector is not even close yet it's the same as the old one I took off.

I'm also having difficulty with the wiring block still. The wiring harness diagrams I got are a bit confusing as many are not the same color. The Brown and Blue wire is still not plugged into anything and don't see those colors on the diagram.

Can someone post a picture of this block? Here is the one we are trying to get under control. I don't think this is wired correctly.

What year Mustang? Does it have a replacement Mini Starter or the original starter?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you are holding up the ECT sensor in your hand, but comparing it to the ACT sensor installed in the manifold. They aren't the same sensor innother words.

I could he misunderstanding it, but didmyou install an ect sensor where an act sensor should be?

Yeah, whoops.....i think we accidentally threw away the act sensor. does anyone know the correct thread size for the ect? Since we are deleting the heater hose altogether, we need a 3/8 pipe plug to whatever the thread of the sensor is adapter to move forward from here.

Like Rog said we threw away the lower intake hoses and totally forgot about that sensor until we put everything back, oops. We should of installed everything first.

And yes I was holding the wrong sensor. It's been only 2 weeks and we forgot a bunch of stuff.

Two Words... Label Everything...:D

We labeled everything and put bolt, nuts, etc. in ziplock bags. The two items we did not are the intake sensors because the stock intake was trash (threw it away too quickly) and the battery / starter block. These two areas have stopped us from moving forward. Well, we did take care of the sensor issue not yet for crossed wires.

We did......for the bolts. Kinda forgot that detail fro the harnesses and sensors. Trust me, we will never duplicate that mistake again. By the way, your diagrams of everything are amazing. Do you have a website where they are stored or do you just pull them up for people as needed?

Some of the diagrams are mine, but many aren't. I use a great resource for most of the computer & electrical items.
